Fleet Captain:
The Yeoman has excellent all round performance making it ideal for family or one design racing.
It is easy to control but has the performance to provide exciting action when racing. It can be raced with either 2 or 3 crew. The class is countrywide with various fleets on the Norfolk Broads and others in Scotland the South Coast and of course N. Ireland at LEYC. The Yeoman currently has a competitive handicap of PY 1108.
The Yeoman Class welcomes both the beginner and the seasoned dinghy/keel boat racer and prides its self on improving sailors skill through informal chat at the high stool. The more competitive the fleet becomes the more enjoyable racing becomes. This is the reason why the more seasoned sailors try to help and encourage novice sailors. Winning by an inch is more satisfactory than winning by a mile.
There are 14 active racing boats at the club with regular turnouts of 7 to 10 boats. If you are interested in finding out more come down before race time and ask for Declan, Mary Anne, Raymond or Bertie one of us are sure to be there.
