Hi All, as Fleet Captain and on behalf of all J/24 sailors at LEYC I want to congratulate Mickey McCaldin and his superb crew of Murder Picture on winning the Irish National J/24 Championship, writes Barry Humphreys.


The picture shows LEYC's twice Irish National J/24 Champions, 2000 and 2009, Bertie Forsythe, Edward Beattie, Michael McCaldin, skipper with cup, Joey Kelly and Michael Whaley

It was a great effort in very difficult light wind conditions. As always Mickey and all the crew of Murder Picture were extremely helpful to other crews at the event at Lough Ree.
I was a late arrival on Friday night at Lough Ree and I found "MeJoolie" rigged and afloat. Mickey and his crew had done this. Brendan Gallagher and his crew arrived later with Jorvik in tow and guess who helped get her rigged afloat and tuned up? Mickey and his crew.
