Barry, Fleet Captain, wrote- I propose to run a series of two J/24 races each Sunday for the 3 Sundays in the run up to our Autumn Regatta.
Three boats turned out for teh first two races on Sunday 20 September, Mejoolie, Barry Humphries, fresh launched back from the National event, Michael Clarke's Jeriatrix and Sean McCosker's Jade. Both courses were from Hay to INishfree, in a shifty SW wind, the second on to finish across teh club line, a tricky beam reach throught the lee of Inishfree. Jeriatrix wonm both, with Mejoolei second and Jade third.
Earlier Preview - We may also have some training included if possible. I am sure we can dig out a trophy or two for the series - rather like a Tuesday series at 7.00 pm, but on three Sundays at 3,00 pm. That is Sundays 20 & 27 September and 4 October. So see you all on these Sundays, first gun 3.00 pm. Regards to all. Barry Humphries, J/24 Fleet Captain.
The Autumn Regatta follows, and is a weekend event, on 10 & 11 October.
