Hearty congratulations from Commodore, Committee and all members of LEYC to our three young sailors selected to the RYA NI Laser Squad- Jennifer Whittaker, Fionnan Martin and Ashraf Ghareeb

The Autumn Regatta report mentioned that our youth sailors were away at RYA selection and Topper events that weekend also, with quiet hopes of a success or two, and awaiting news later in the week. Well, in the event, there were three, yes three selected from LEYC, in a new 17 member RYA Laser Squad (with a few more to come).

This trio, and others before them from LEYC in RYA youth squads are a credit to their families and their club, to their instructors and organisers of the youth section, which well merits LEYC's Volvo Champion Club designation, first gained eight years ago, and still well merited by today's VCC team.

For the general membership, whose club funds were invested in training boats, facilities and equipment, alongside significant voluntary effort, the success of these three young sailors is the latest pleasing profit from that investment.
